Privacy

The protection of your data is our top priority. In this privacy policy, we explain what data we collect for what purposes. The responsible party according to Article 24 ff General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the Klimadashboard association with the ZVR number 1412077587. This privacy policy was last updated in March 2024.

Data protection for visitors

Our websites do not use tracking cookies. Custom settings (such as Dark Mode, selected regions, etc.) are stored in Local Storage to provide you with a pleasant user experience. These local settings are never transferred to our servers, can be deleted at any time, and are not necessary for the use of our websites. If you allow our websites to locate you, all location data is processed exclusively on your device, never on our servers.

Newsletter

We use Buttondown as a newsletter tool. You can unsubscribe from our newsletters at any time. More information about Buttondown's data processing can be found here.

Analytics

Our websites use Fathom, an analytics tool that respects the privacy of our users. Your IP address is anonymized. The data is currently stored for an unlimited period (at the earliest February 2022).

We see which browsers our users use, what type of devices (mobile, desktop, tablet,...), at what time and from which country our pages are used, how long the average stay is, and which pages are accessed. We also learn from which referral page you visit our offers (e.g., if you come to our page via Google search results).

We use Fathom Analytics to further develop our web offerings in a target group-oriented manner.

Data protection for association members

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of legal regulations (GDPR, DSG 2018, TKG).

Data processing is based on the legal provisions of the GDPR and implementing provisions, in particular due to existing consent (Art 6 para 1 GDPR lit a), due to the necessity for contract fulfillment (Art 6 para 1 lit b GDPR) and/or due to overriding legitimate interests (Art 6 para 1 lit f GDPR).

You generally have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in any way, please contact us to quickly clarify any misunderstandings. You can also complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority. If you have further questions on the topic, please feel free to contact the board at team@klimadashboard.org. There you can inquire about which of your data is stored with us and have your data deleted.

Your membership data is stored for the duration of the membership and beyond in accordance with legally necessary periods, and only the board and necessary third parties, such as auditors or financial auditors, have access to it.
